6.7 Engineering Design Control (EDC)

Engineering control is the control and management of a company’s important engineering design tasks. For example, Serva Software LLC’s new product research and development, technological innovation and other tasks, which are generally completed by one or more departments, have a typically long and complicated design cycle. Simply put, engineering control can be understood as a small design project, which can be managed effectively through engineering control in the 2BizBox system.

An EDC usually should start from a part, and indicate the department and team that involves in. During the project, complete input and output description, review, verification and valisation description, should be kept in record. At the same time, related orders, such as Work Order, Sales Order, ECN, can be filled in the EDC.
